Who Is Hogballs?

Hogballs is me! A Software Engineer with just over 6 years of experience (if you count an initial 20 month-long internship, that is). You can probably find me a bit too easily since I use this username just abot everywhere. Maybe one day I’ll come forward and take ownership over this highly-prestigious blog. In the meantime, I’m just Hogballs, or Hog for short q:^)

What is Hogballs?

Hogballs is a nickname coined by a close friend of mine back in my college days, and it doesn’t really get much deeper than that. This friend is known for concocting humorous nicknames for all of his friends, and as you can tell, they tend to stick.

Fun fact! I didn’t search for the name “Hogballs” online until recently. Kagi, my beloved search engine, returned the following hit:

What is the Purpose of Blogballs?

If I’m being honest, I don’t really know. Is this a technical blog? A scream-chamber of opinion pieces? A safe-place that isn’t some shitty social media for me to share things with friends and family? Another ADHD hyper-fixation that will become irrelevant within 3 months?

I would bet it’s a combination of all of those! Regardless, if you take the time to read my content anyway, then I thank you (and question whether you have too much free time).

My Personal AI Policy

While the bones of this blog were created with the help of AI, all content is 100% AI free, for now and forever. I really hate blogs that are just written by AI. If I wanted an AI’s opinion, I would have booted up my favourite model and asked it myself, dingus.
